Belfast: Honeymoon 2014

I have to apologize to the city of Belfast. We stayed there for two nights but we spent so much time outside exploring the Northern Ireland coast that we didn't really get to see the city.

The first day (Tues) we drove in at about 7pm, had dinner at a restaurant about a block from our hotel. The next day (Wed) we drove up to the North Coast, getting back around 7pm and just had dinner in the restaurant at the Hotel. We left before the sun came up at 6am. By our observations driving in and out of the city, it is very industrial. Most buildings are made of brick and historically it was a huge city of Linen, Rope Making, and Shipbuilding Industries. Our hotel was situated right across the street from City Hall. So we only got to see this center of the city in the evening. City Hall, compared to most places on our honeymoon is pretty "new". Construction was completed in 1906 after Queen Victoria gave Belfast city status in 1888. James and I felt bad we didn't see much of the city but we walked around the full square block that city hall sits on. On the grounds there is a Titanic memorial but I couldn't get a good picture of it in the dark.

I don't want to sound like we didn't like Belfast but I feel like the only thing I missed doing was the Titanic memorial. I could always plan a trip back but I enjoyed outside the city much more.
